PostSubject: Rude Awakening   Thu Mar 17, 2011 9:24 pm

Tai Yoshimi yawned as she stared up at the ceiling, reclining on a collection of pillows. She brushed a strand of dark maroon hued hair from her face, still staring. Her brow was furrowed intensely and all her lips were pulled together. Tai looked like she was about to break a blood vessel. Finally she grinned and slammed her fists onto the soft bed below her. She sat up, drawing her knees up to her chest. Tai peered over to the small Hollow chinchilla crawling around in it's expansive cage, still smiling. ”Alright, i'll wake him up by repeatedly slamming pillows into his face? How does that sound, Chilla-san?!” Tai yelled, wildly waving her arms around.

She huffed as the small hollowfied crawled away from Tais' line of site, and under a few dead plants. ”Fine then, I don't need you...” Tai thought, laying back down on the bed. Her hands rested on her stomach, folded over the other and fingers intertwined. The person she was so enthusiastically speaking of waking up was the Cero Espada, Marcus-kun. She particularly enjoyed waking the man up in odd and sometimes violent ways. It was one of her hobbies, and she treated it like a sport. She refused to wake him up using the same method, which is why today was such a frustrating day. She had exhausted most of her creativity on the prior days. Splashing ice cold water on him, practicing her marksmanship training using arrows and apples, launching marble paperweights at his stomach.

Tai knew she had a very fantastic run, but maybe it had ended. These methods were quite harsh, and she was still confused why the man still let her sit on his shoulder. She was quite a tiny and lithe girl, weighing in at only 95 pounds. Tai was also very short, 4'9”. She was just over half of her masters height, leading to some taunts from other Arrancar. ”That....that's it!!!!” Tai shrieked happily. She jumped on the bed, repeatedly shouting the words she had just said. Tai had found her ever so brilliant way to wake up Marcus-kun. She leaped off of the bed, landing on a tiny dresser. Tai's hands flew to one of the drawers, digging and pulling through each one. She let out a small squeak as she lost her balance, utterly distracted by her plot.

Tai fell head first on to the ground, and the dresser followed. She kicked and yelled, throwing the desk off of her tiny body. She quickly dug herself out from under a pile of items and clothes. Tai smiled brightly as she spotted a slingshot, sitting pretty atop the junk. She snatched it and ran off, grabbing a pack of stones on her way out. ”Mr. Ceroooooo, wake up! Waaaaaake uuup!” Tai shouted while running down the hall. She breezed past other Arrancar, swiftly dodging anyone in the way. Tais' lips curled up into a naughty smile as she raised her foot up high. ”Ha, my creative methods are dead yet, Mr. Cero.” Tai mumbled before thrusting her foot forward. The door easily knocked down, falling to the floor with a thud.

Tai strutted forward, narrowing her eyes at the sleeping master. She used a Sonido before leaping into the air. Tai landed, solidifying her balance on the bed. Her body stood next to the sleeping master, and she grabbed one stone from the bag. She quickly held one in front of the rubber string connected to the slingshot. Tai drew it back, smirking. With a light pop, she let go. The stone flew down, hitting her master straight in his closed eye. ”Sweet suuuuuuccess!!” Tai yelled, jumping up and down on the bed. ”Now wake your lazy ass, before I fire more stones at you!! I want to eat breakfast early today, and it's gonna be cookies and cake!” Tai explained, still hopping around on the bed.

The sweet succor of sleep, it was a thing glorious, a moment in which a man felt no limits, only the respite offered by the dreaming world and the vast creations and illusions it brought with it. True, as serious and stoic as the dreaded cero espada was, he never seemed to shirk on his time spent napping and lounging, the whole of both acting as a part of his normal routine. His reasoning? A lax mind makes for even thought. At least, that was his excuse to anyone who asked him or accused him of laziness. In fact, it seemed to be a quality that the man shared with a certain young female fraccion of his, or rather, the senior fraccion among his personal rank and file of servants, companions and competent bodyguards. Pity was, even if the two shared a similar love and enjoyment for sleep, it never seemed that Marcus was allowed to enjoy it as he liked and without reprimand from the single arrancar in all of Las Noches who could push, pull, punch and kick him about. And there he slept, the mighty Cero Espada wrapped in the silk covers of the massive circular bed he called his own, his chambers as massive as they were impressive, adorned with the many paintings he had acquired and even done himself, books littering the desks and shelves, and the last night's serving of now luke-warm waters and drinks sitting atop his bed stand, their place unrelieved by the fraccion meant to clean their master's quarters. No matter though, he was fast asleep and enjoying it, at least, for the moment.

His mind stirred ever so slightly at the hollering approach from the halls, his comprehension not quite so there as he began to groggily stir to and fro about his blankets and sheets. At least, until he was forcefully awoken by a sudden pang of pain in his right eye. The man let out a holler of a curse, the often quite voice thundering with an exclamation of both pain and surprise, a lazy hand rubbing his eye in reflex to wipe away both the tears pooled by reflex from their duct and the pain of the now slightly red eye as he sat upwards, straight and stiff as a board with his other eye watching after Tai's form with an almost angry look. "Was that truly necessary!?" Marcus slowly rolled from his bed, turning himself and removing his hand from his otherwise unharmed eye as he reached for the day's change of clothing and slipped behind the proper screen to keep his process unseen by his female companion, returning to sight a few moments later, properly changed and clothed as an Espada should, an exasperated look the constant on his face.

Why he so diligently put up with this girl was a question even he could not answer. Perhaps it was thanks and damnable only in the name of his personal ethics? If it was, he so very often thought on the venture of breaking them to spoil the rod and beat the woman from time to time. But, he could never truly bring himself to do so, Tai's constant bickering behind soft eyes and puffed lips demanding anything they wanted from him in but an instant. Should one never know better, one would think he the subservient fool and she the master. Alas, the number tattooed upon his right hand said otherwise. "Could you not have called for the others to have made you food? No doubt your daily batches are already made, Tai-chan" Yes indeed, daily batches, and if one asked in suspect, they would be proven correctly. This woman was spoiled at its best, the second most powerful arrancar in existence wrapped around your finger, and his kitchen ready and making a daily allotment of sweets and candies without a word of question to do so. Lucky woman she was to have demanded such as she did and lived with success. Nevertheless, the man that was Marcus looked after her with an almost glare on his face, a slight hint of irritation evident on his unshaven face, the antics were not so welcome so early.

Tai kept jumping on the bed, lowering her upper body ever so slightly to focus upon her results. She blinked and let out a surprised squeak as Marcus-kun let out an aggravated yell. Her body fell backwards from the bed, knocking her arm against the bedside table. Her hands accidentally knocked most of the half-full cups from the small bedside table, glass colliding with the typically spotless floor. Shards splotched the ground, some landing on Tai. Along with damage to the glass, the table look worse for wear also. The overhanging edge was dented severely, spliced wood sticking out of the bent edge. Tai however, was unharmed. Her Hierro had easily deflected any damage caused by the small objects. A small glaze ran over her eyes, almost bewildered. Her jaw was slacked, and why she was surprised she did not know. She was used to being yelled at, and knocking into things.

No bodily damage was caused to her, but she frowned anyways. ”Yes, it was completely necessary!! You wouldn't of awoken if I was nice! I've already tried that before, silly Cero.” Tai yelled, slightly upset. She remembered that one time she tried being patient, and waiting for him to wake up. Took too damn long, and he was still grumpy. After that, she decided to get more harsh in her methods. The rather sudden holler had shocked her more than she anticipated. She knew her master was quite a moody one, especially when she awoke him. Maybe it was just a bad morning. Huffing, Tai crawled up onto the circular bed as Mr. Cero went to change. Her legs folded under her, lazily resting on her knees. Tai tugged at the large comforter blankets around, pulling the soft silk over her. She quickly rolled around, smothering herself in fabric.

After she had stopped moving and Marcus-kun emerged from the changing screen, Tai looked as if she was in a cocoon of blankets. Her lips stiffened into a hurt pout. She was slightly upset that Mr. Cero had gotten so mad. Her big cerulean eyes averted his angry glare and her head slowly rested itself on the mattress. Tai kept looking ahead, avoiding looking back at her master. ”We'll then, lets get to breakfast. There's no use is being mad now, you're already up and dressed!” Tai replied, still looking away. She scooted herself out of the bed, falling onto the floor. The mass of blankets cushioned her tiny fall and she slowly stood up. Her legs wobbled unsteadily, as if they were flimsy noodles. Regaining her balance, she flashed a mischievous smile back at her master.

”C'mon, lets go. It's not that hard, just put one foot over the other, and ta-da, you're going places!” Tai explained simply, batting her long lashes at Mr. Cero. She was a very stubborn and smart girl, yet underneath lied the soft trickster. Tai turned her back to the man, walking towards the door. Her feet stomped lightly against the ground, still aggravated at being yelled out. As she crossed over the fallen door, her right foot plunged through the thin wood. Tai looked down, sighing. The large silk blanket was wrapped around her shoulders and trailing behind her like the train of a wedding dress. She quickly ripped her foot from the door, thin pieces of wood catching in her black boots. Tai continued to walk, slowing her pace. The young Fraccion wouldn't want her master to slip back to bed just yet.

A sigh escaped the man's lips. Perhaps his reaction was too harsh? Such was his thought upon viewing the pathetic pout Tai wore upon her face beneath the mottle of covers she had hidden herself in before leaping from the bed, blanket trailing behind her and foot planting itself in the door on his floor for a moment. Door on his floor? A slight look of bewilderment overcame the man as he recognized that, the door which sat so unceremoniously on his floor was his own, a slight twitch of recognizable frustration visible from his brow before his left it to another commonality of his hyperactive fraccion. It seemed almost impossible to keep nice things with the woman flitting about as she did so half-hazardly, completely oblivious to the damage she made half the time, or taking enjoyment out of it. She was rather sick in the head from first glance, but her company was kept nonetheless. "When last I checked, I was the Espada and you were the fraccion. Should it not be I waking you up so belligerently and not the other way around?" A shake of the head in disbelief with only the smallest hint of a smirk caught the Espada's lip as he slowly followed after Tai, his own lazy stride guiding him at the pace he saw fit, and the pace he so deemed appropriate was slow and lax indeed.

Truth be told, he was less than irritable, it was simply the tactics used by Tai to wake him that he loathed and was often surprised by, or temporarily injured by. But, was he angry? Not in his opinion, even as he thought after the subject at hand, even as he followed Tai through the halls, a sinking feeling of internal disappointment from having recognized him snapping at the chipper fraccion, a less than bemused tone echoing through the hall to Tai's ears as he spoke in an almost solemn tone in their walk. "F...forgive me Tai-chan...I had no intention of yelling at you as I did." Awkward, at best, then again, such was the manner of the Cero Espada, a man so high and powerful, brought to his knees in sheer embarrassment at the awkwardness that surrounded his dislike for even yelling at a woman he knew, his apologies almost as awkward as the feeling he felt for even having to repair and possible damage done. No drama queen was he, but, it never did fail that he felt as he did that moment. Though, he certainly did his best to hide it, stepping up his pace and walking passed the blanket dragging fraccion, eyes averted. And, was that a slight flush on the oh-so-stoic man's face? One couldn't tell by the quickness he passed the woman and taking lead in the pace as it should have been.

The halls belonging to the Cero Espada were expansive, huge even, enough to make the highest class of humans look like the lowest forms of life, from lounges to the bathhouse, his wing was grand, some might even gander the thought that the Cero's halls were greater than the King's. But, such is a thing few would dare to fancy, even after seeing the many paintings adorning the walls, depictions of battle, death, romance, life, tragedy, happiness, all the most extreme of feelings littering the open spaces along his walls, the red carpet beneath the feet feeling enough to suit royalty. Throughout these halls, arrancar and fraccion alike scattered, stopped, or dodged the man's entrance with due haste. Was he a man feared? Such depended on how an individual felt of him, not of what he thought others felt. But, it was morning, and Marcus was awoken by his fraccion, his hollers and howls likely having filtered their way through the halls for all to hear, small signs of gossip and chuckles littering the passing few, even a finger caught in motion pointing at the slight sight of red at the corner of his right brow with a faint chuckle in the background, a brief glare from the Espada diverting and severing whatever on goings there were in said area as he stepped into his personal lounge, seating himself amidst the man cushions and pillows without so much as a thought, his own platter of preferred fruits ready on the table set before him, but the food going unnoticed as Tai's own culinary delights were being prepared. A brief eye looked over his shoulder, watching for the approach of the woman, making self-assuredness that the woman would not have a drop upon him anymore throughout the undesired breakfast.

Tai let out a soft yawn as she heard the sluggish clicking of her masters feet. She smirked slightly, still looking ahead. Her mission to wake Mar-kun up everyday was always successful. Tai didn't have much else to do in the giant castle of Los Noches. Pfft, the place was big enough for her to label it a realm. There was always a section that she hadn't explored or stashed something. One of her minor goals was to eliminate that fact someday, however incredulous it was. She was a wild girl, in a wild world. And it was safe to say she wouldn't be changing anytime soon. Tai peered over her shoulder as her master followed, shooting a one fanged grin back at him. She was still amazed that he stood up to her 'trials' as she would nickname them. He was much more....tolerant, than the other Arrancar around Los Noches.

Her eyes slowly refocused on the path as her master started to speak. She chuckled, also noting that their relationship was somewhat unconventional. ”It's much more fun that way, Mr. Cero! And ha, why would I need to be woken up early, huh? I'm just the lowly, unimportant Fraccion to an almighty Cero Espada.” Tai sang out sarcastically, her voice tinkling with joy like silver bells. She peered over her shoulder once more and narrowed her eyes ever-so-slightly at Mar-kun, as if to say ”Right?”. After she had turned her head back to the path in front of them, she heard his voice once more. Tai blinked in surprise, as instead of a retort to her sarcasm she got an apology. She groaned and walked faster as Mar-kun passed her by. Tai looked up at her master, her eyes calming and loosing their rigid sarcasm.

”You don't have to apologize, silly. It's not like you hit me upside the head. Yelling is just loud words spewed out of intense emotions. That's simply it. So it doesn't hurt me.” Tai explained in a matter-of-fact tone. Her voice had softened considerably, gaining a rather mature edge. It was unnatural to see a girl with the actions of a 5 year old, and the words of a wise, grown woman. But that was simply how Tai was, wild and full of surprises. She yawned once more, a portion of the large blanket flailing behind her. Tai was glad her master wasn't an over-reactive one. She had seen other masters hit their Fraccion and beat them, directing harsh words at them for no reason. That was why she had such thorough consideration in picking masters. She didn't want to end up like them. Tai pulled the blanket close as they passed into a room, exiting the large hallway. She smiled and clapped happily as she spotted a spread of cookies and sweets being prepared. She was a bit too enthusiastic when it came to food, especially sweets.

Tai would indulge to her hearts content, then run off somewhere to nap or explore. She leaped onto a sofa as her master sat down opposite of her. Tai quickly reached in front of her and snatched many cookies and tiny cakes from a platter, quickly cramming them into her mouth. Her cheeks were puffed up and her finger were sticky, coated in powdered sugar and crumbs. Tai chewed lazily before gulping the mass of food down and sighed out of happiness. She repeated this awkward process about two more times, emptying the plate in a record 4 minutes. Her body relaxed and slipped onto the soft couch, the blanket falling around her. Her gaze fell onto an untouched cantaloupe. It had not been cut into pieces like the others, simply sitting there in a bowl next to a few other fruits. She lazily sat up and her eyes shot to Mar-kun. Tais' small, bony hands reached out, grabbing the cantaloupe from it's bowl. With a tiny giggle, she hurled it directly at the Ceros' face.

[not my best, but here it is]

The welcoming spread of sweet fruits in the "morning", it truly was the old roman's favorite way of starting his own day. Polite fingers reached and grabbed after grapes, apple slices and the occasional orange slice, the Cero Espada picking over the fruits at a casual pace, free of concern. At least, such would have been the case had it not been for the squeals of joy exclaimed from the loud fraccion with whom he kept his company. A raised brow acknowledged the excitement, a quick exhalation hinting at the smallest of chuckles, a rarity indeed and something never seen outside of his own quarters for the sake of keeping his facade of a man devoid of emotion about him at all times. " For some reason that escapes my logic..." Marcus grabbed for a cup of hot sake, one that had been most ideally brought to him by the other nameless types, sipping on it casually and enjoying its flavor for but a moment. "...after all, so many have already referred to your behavior being akin to that of the spoiled princess. And here I'm left wondering, if I do so spoil you or not." More a statement than a question, it was Marcus' own game of prodding back at Tai's sarcasm with his own play of words, an attempt to fluster the hyper-active woman into another fit of her exclaimed vocal displays.

Alas, Tai had other ideas, a stray cantaloupe flying towards Marcus at, for most, would perchance be considered break-neck speed. Could the man see it in time!? Or would his face be melded with the sticky sweetness of cantaloupe hide and juices. It would indeed, a casual lean to the left allowed the fruit to fly past him and hit a location unawares behind him, though, the sudden sound of exclamations and shouts gave hint that Tai may very well have hit one of the other fraccion off in the distance. "Do you forget that I am not so easy the prey when I am awake, Tai-chan?" A bemused tone spoke all that words could not of the silent amusement the Cero Espada was experiencing, so much in fact, he could not help but answer the challenge in the way of a slight exertion of reiatsu which caused the cup of water nearest Tai's far-reaching hands to knock over, a more civil but slightly messier way of reminding her who exactly was the Espada in this venture. A pity as it was though, a slight pang of reality hit him in his beguiled silence, remembering the reality of what would come to be in a day or two, an excursion to the human world.

He almost cursed himself then and there for having almost forgotten, his mind had escaped him in his constant slumbering, drinking and reading he always let himself partake in when he had the off time. Now though, he was paying for his laziness in his own mind, he was still unsure as to how to organize the departure, the idea of bringing others besides himself and Escher having toyed at his consciousness a few times already. But, could he bring himself to take Tai with him? He couldn't dare to endanger the woman now could he? Yes indeed, conforming to popular thought, that girl was spoiled at every corner by her Espada and his favoring ways. Truth be told, any arrancar under his command that possessed the female gender was a woman spoiled by the Espada. He never could bring himself to think that women should be allowed to put themselves in harm way, for such was against the very essence of his Roman self, a self he remembered and followed after quite fondly throughout the ages. Perhaps he would take Noah? Maybe, the man was undeniably weaker than Tai, but he did not possess all the factors of the girl. Still, what if something in the human world were to go wrong? A stray burst of reiatsu or sudden unveiling of anything overly sensitive could bring the Gotei down on their heads like no other. The thoughts plagued his mind, enough to the point that, the man was slowly growing unaware of his physical surroundings, brow furrowed in thought and unknowing of Tai's own machinations during that time.

She chuckled as the cantaloupe missed her master, flying and hitting someone else. Her light chuckle evolved into a full-on burst of laughter as she saw a female running past. The girl had long blonde hair, her Mask Fragments completely hiding her eyes. The cantaloupe was pulverized, splattered all over her chest. Her laughing continued to echo in the large room, slowing down as Mar-kun spoke to her. ”I expected as much....but I simply wanted to test if you were paying attention....and how sleepy you were.” Tai mumbled, smirking at him. She didn't know if she performed all of her annoying stunts and actions simply for entertainment, or to keep her master on his toes. While it was nice to think of it was a form of training, she leaned towards entertainment. She yawned the empty silver platter of cookies was picked up, and a new one set in its place.

Tai adjusted her position on the small white sofa. One of her tiny feet were pressed against the armrest, causing it to cramp slightly. She scooted upwards, clenching the blanket tightly before thrusting it upwards and over her head. Tai continued to pull and push until finally, the entire blanket was sitting under her upper body. Sighing lazily, she collapsed onto it and grinned. She spent most of her days napping, eating, and finding ways to make her napping experience much more awesome. ”Hmmm....maybe I should build a napping fort....it could have tons of pillows and blankets and stuff. I could even put bunches of traps in it, so that people won't be able to wake me up. Yeah, I think i'll do that one on...what, Saturday? Hmm...yeah. That way, I can sleep in til' Sunday. Then wake up, hunt some Shinigami....Hahaha, who am I kidding? I'll sleep til' whenever!” Tai thought, looking up at the high ceiling.

It looked smoother than satin, painted a creamy white. The border was painted jet black with fleurs-de-lis. They were rather pretty, but overused, in Tais' honest opinion. She knew it meant “flower of the lily” or “lily flower” in French. Something like that. The only culture she really knew anything about was traditional Japanese culture. Not that it was very exciting. Tai was about to reach out and grab another untouched fruit to throw, when she heard Mar-kun mention that her behavior was similar to that of a spoiled princess. Her body shot up, sitting straight and rigid. Her face lost any of it's innocent qualities, gaining an angry flair. ”I am nothing like a princess. And nor do I appreciate it when i'm likened to one!” Tai yelled, seeming genuinely pissed off. She'd get over it eventually, with a little pouting here and there, like always. Tai wouldn't be Tai if she wasn't a dramatic little tomboy.

She'd be someone else, probably with a much more feminine name. As Tai looked at the freshly baked sweets, she remembered that her morning routine had skipped over something. She smiled brightly and looked back to her master. Without employing the use of Sonido, she gracefully landed on her masters shoulder. Her tiny, lithe body could easily fit on his broad shoulders, something that she took much delight in. The big blanket was left on the couch, hanging from the side. She leaned her elbow against his head, smiling brightly at first. Her grin dimmed slightly, taking on a much more concerned status. ”How....how is Hollow-dono?” Tai asked softly. She referred to the Hollow King as Hollow-dono, as just because he was one of, if not the, most powerful Arrancar in existence, he still deserved a nickname.

"Hoh?"

A bemused gaze shot to Tai's very own outburst, the smallest of smirks visible from Marcus before he left himself to his brooding once more. The girl was a bit like the spoiled princess, perhaps the luxury was too much? Truth be told, he couldn't say it if it were true, the idea of not spoiling women with whatever luxury he could not provide was not something he could manage. Women, in the eye of the Cero Espada, were a treasure whose worth exceeded that of any precious stone or power, and it was something he felt the worlds themselves should recognize. Old Roman tendencies once more exuding from the gladiator of ancient myth and legend, a man bound to the very honor that killed him as it did give him new life as hollow, then arrancar. A pitiful thing he must be in the eyes of many, to be a man who lived in the past more than the future. Or was it the other way around? He couldn't quite discern accurately at times. After all, the past must be observed and recognized for the future to ever be influenced in a way that one might desire. Still, it seemed his mind was one of those that allowed itself to think as freely as it did in the confined sense, both productive and counter-productive in whatever circumstance he found himself in, rarely the man who made his decisions or choices without first thinking them over again and again, just as he did many a night in his chambers when the method of treatment of the woman who had, unintentionally, managed to steal the position as his favored fraccion.

But, whatever thought he could have had at that moment was interrupted by the abrupt appearance of Tai upon his shoulders. Were any onlookers to see it, one may have feared for the girl's well-being, but, not in this circumstance. Nay, he could not bring himself to yell at the girl or express his dislike for it. After all, the woman barely weighed anything upon his shoulders, an almost silent sigh expressing his reluctant acceptance of Tai's decision before he felt the slight poke and prod of an elbow atop his head, causing the man to turn his head slightly so that the arm would falter and he could look with an upward glance at the girl and her question before looking forward once more, a similar sense of quiet seriousness overtaking the man in his thoughts. "I cannot say." He could not say, because it was not permitted, the Hollow King was a stubborn fool, clinging to his position even in his final days with the saddest of attempts. He refused any but Marcus and Escher permission to enter his chambers and to know of his well-being, or lack thereof. It was a foolish thing he did, to attempt to hide his undeniable weakness from those who followed him. A disgusting trait among many that the fool who called himself king harbored within his persona.

Marcus shifted again, uncomfortable as he was, shifting and sliding to the side, a shoulder rolling so as to allow Tai not to fall from him if she so desired, Marcus laying himself on his back, head rested against the arm of the cushioned couch he so favored, a guiding arm reaching out to Tai so that she might either mirror her master or simply sit upon him as she so often seemed to enjoy, but his shoulders would not be her seat at that moment. His face seemed, chilled as it was, a brooding frown evident in his brow as he thought of the "King" and his hate for the man, one harbored for so long and with such intensity that it was a wonder his blood did not boil by simply living in the same citadel as that man. "I cannot say...nor do I care. The old fool clings to his power like a dying fanatic, and it leaves our kind in a state of disarray. We suffer because of his weakness." His tone was sharp, though not directed at his frail fraccion, but instead at the thought of the man whom called himself king because of a power he possessed no longer. Was there an eavesdropper, perhaps there would be a reason to worry though, for often did it seem that Marcus spoke of his disdain for the Hollow King in the confines of his own quarter. But even then, such did not mean his words were safe to be heard among all ears of his fraccion, subversion was a common practice among arrancar and Espada in an effort to gain control or advantage, be it in power or political sense. Nevertheless, if Tai had never known the depth of her master's disdain for the monster responsible for the deaths and slaughter of so many of his kind, she would then.

Tai huffed as Mar-kun moved his head slightly, causing her thin arm to slip. She simply rested it on her lap next her other arm. Tai refused to move from her spot on the mans shoulders, and it was hers only. Mainly because no one else was allowed to sit on his shoulder. Tai was unsure if anyone else in the entire palace would try such a thing. And for that, she considered herself a very brave person. Tai couldn't recall the first time she had sat on his shoulder. It must've been a while back. She didn't care anyways, as it did not matter. To her, recalling memories of unimportant things was very boring. And the 'young' female Fraccion would not put up with boredom. Or being called a princess, for that matter. ”No, i'm not like a princess! Stupid...i'm just a very awesome Fraccion that you are lucky to have!” Tai exclaimed loudly, her lips drawn tight once she was finished as an attempt to pout.

To her, being called a princess was held as a negative term. She was a nice little Arrancar, albeit a bit bossy and loud. Tai blinked as she slipped from Mar-kuns' shoulder, groaning as he layed down on the couch. She hoped he didn't plan on falling asleep so soon after waking. She'd be forced to get her slingshot again, or even worse. Tai kept an arsenal of 'weapons' at her disposal, all used for waking her dear master up. Or annoying him. Though, the latter was unlikely, mainly because he was so goddamn alert when awake. Her body slid downwards, halting atop his stomach. She decided that she could their until he stood up once more. Then she would return to her usual area, the shoulder.

Tai dug her tiny feet into the edge of the couch below them and drew her legs upwards. She wrapped her arms around them, resting her head on her knees. Her gaze was directed straight ahead as the Cero spoke of Hollow-donos condition. Her feelings towards the old coot were mixed. He didn't seem like he cared very much for the Espada or other Arrancar all too much, even during his time of health. Then again, it was expected. Tai was fully aware it was rare to see Arrancars show care or worry towards their fellow comrades. But on the other hand, Hollow-dono was someone she had to respect. Tai did not have a damn choice in the matter. He was more powerful, and if she didn't show respect.....what would others think of her? It was bad enough with everyone calling her a spoiled princess. What would be next? Rebel? Brat? Idiot? She didn't want to think about it. Tai might appear tough and cool on the outside, but she had a very weak way of tolerating criticism.

”I see....Mr. Cero, what would happen should Hollow-dono perish anytime soon?” Tai asked quietly, curiosity sparking in her mind. Would her master inherit the regal spot? ”Ugh, that really would make you a princess wouldn't it....” Tai thought, quietly scoffing at her negative thought. Tai lifted her head from it's resting spot atop her knees and extended a hand towards her master. Smirking slightly, Tais' hands curled and gently flicked Mar-kun on the nose. ”Ya know, if you don't stop brooding like that, your eyebrows are gonna stay in that position forever.” Tai stated with a tiny giggle. A low level Arrancar walking past caught her eye. Well, not the Arrancar. But the frosting coated cake sitting on a silver platter. Snatching it quickly from the mans hands, she turned and proceeded to slam towards her masters face. Tai hoped it would land, just to screw up whatever deep thought was on his mind.

"One means, when. It's a wonder the old fool draws breath even this very second."

As sharp a tongue as ever, it seemed a disdainful temperament was getting the best of the man most commonly known for his chilling calm in whatever the situation. But, for all of his calm, the matter of the "King" was one that frustrated him enough to draw blood through his veins at a rate higher than typical. He loathed the old man for his poor excuse of a reign and the result of that, the slaughter performed in that man's name upon a colony never forgotten. It was a grudge never to end until the man did in fact perish, that much was a clear fact in Marcus' own mind. "When the time comes, I imagine..." He found himself cut off for a moment, a flick of the nose causing the man to wrinkle his face ever so slightly in reflex before a slight huff of displeasure communicated itself quite clearly to the woman who sat so casually upon his stomach. So feisty the girl was, enough so that it confounded him at times to the point that he rarely managed to figure out a method appropriate in handling or understanding her actions. Yes, the spoiled princess was a fitting title, but, her displeasure for that title was obvious enough to make it more damaging than amusing if he pursued its use. Instead, he merely allotted her actions to one of many complexities that surrounded women and her own form of entertainment at his expense, something he found himself less than bothered by.

But, again, his thoughts made their circle, catching back after his interrupted statement and continuing from where he left. "...I imagine, that Las Noches would find itself in an even greater disarray. Infighting would begin among the Espada, unless another took the seat of Hollow King with due haste and without a challenge by the popular majority." It was the realistic possibility, though, he would not admit his own machinations, not publicly. The moment that fool breathed his last breath, Marcus would have every intent and conviction to steal the idolized crown from his dead top and place it upon his own with his own might to defend his claim without question. Yet, what if he was questioned? The answer was obvious, other than the Hollow King himself, there existed not a single arrancar or hollow in existence that could challenge Marcus on even ground, that much was proven by both history and his number, of the empires of olden hollow kind, only Marcus remained, a living enigma and embodiment. So, should any resist, they would meet a fate similar to the late King, but with a far more dramatic means and...colorful result. True, he desired not a conflict in his likely ascension to power, but, it was possible, and should the opposition present itself, it would have to be faced with a greater force to either subdue or destroy that which challenged him.

In all his thoughts though, it seemed that Marcus would be oblivious to the outside world, but not this day, not in such close proximity to Tai when so many bustled about them. For, even as the platter was taken and dumped towards his face, a dexterous hand reached from behind his head, catching and guiding the platter to the side and safely upon the table besides them in arm's reach, a faint gleam of amusement in Marcus' eyes as he answered Tai's own mischievous habits with a seasoned man's return. As his other hand made play, his left shot out, reaching for Tai's own wrist so as to capture and subdue the girl against either himself or the couch as he remained laying so very relaxingly. He would not pursue, but, he would not allow the woman to advance so easily, the slightest sound of a chuckle escaping his lips. "Come now, you musn't think me so lazy as to not notice." True, he was a serious man indeed, but, there existed a bit of him that appreciated the more jovial aspects of "human" interaction. He simply continued to lay as he was, content with the comfort of his couch and his own thoughts, despite interruptions made by company. With the faint amusement though, came a slow end, not a lack of continuation, merely the regaining of his dominant self, that which was a serious toned man. "And I do not brood as you so blatantly call it."

Tai blinked as her master averted the cake flying towards his face, watching as he simply put on the table. The female let out a loud hiss as her wrist was grabbed as to prevent her from hurling anymore items of interest his way. ”No, I did not think you were too lazy. I just think you were too caught up in...whatever you were thinking about. And that you needed a little pick-me-up. Like, a cake to the face. If only it would've hit you....” Tai explained nonchalantly, fully believing her words made absolute sense. She let out a tiny, mocking laugh as her master claimed he wasn't brooding. Her face lowered ever so lightly. Tais' right eye narrowed, while the other widened. It was as if she was inspecting him. ”Oh really, your not brooding? Then what were you doing? Plotting...planning..pouting? It sure looks like as if you were brooding, silly Espada...” Tai exclaimed while smirking. She was sure that she would've gotten him that time but it seemed as if she'd have to wait another day to reach sweet success. Tai had no idea why she enjoyed torturing her master in such peculiar ways. Did it stem from her human life?

Maybe. She didn't remember it all too well, just some flashes of the past here and there. This didn't necessarily mean she couldn't recall her emotions. Pain, pride, love, misery. Somewhat in that order. Tai kinda doubted that was why she took pleasure in trying to injure him. It was probably just the boredom that infected Los Noches, always flowing around the place. Her head leaned against her knees, lolling slightly as she peered at her continually stoic master. The large, turquoise tinged eyes focused upon her master as a naughty smirk took its place on her lips. ”Someday, Mar-kun, I will launch a cake at your face. And it will hit you. Just youuuu waaaaait...” Tai exclaimed. Her naughty smirk blossomed into a full wicked grin. Confidence swirled around her actions and expressions. She stood up quickly as another plate of sweets was set on the sturdy table. The cake that was supposed to be splattered against Mar-kuns face had been picked up, on it's way to wherever. Probably to one of the other Espada who resided in Los Noches. Tais' hands swiped the entire platter from it's resting place and turned back to her spot.

Plopping down on the mans stomach, she looked around for a spot to set the tray. Her eyes gained a serious touch and her brow furrowed, perfectly mimicking her masters brooding look. However, the reasons the two Arrancar were on completely different levels. Finally, her eyes landed on a suitable spot. Setting the large bamboo tray down on her masters chest, she directed a stern gaze right at him. Don't...move....a muscle. Or you'll end up covered in powdered sugar and crumbs, alright?” Tai stated. Unlike before, where she intended on having target practice Mar-kuns face and various foods, she did not desire this tray of food to spill. Tai plucked a small cupcake from the tray, ripping the colored wrapper from it. She quickly devoured it while savoring the sweet flavor of icing. Anything with a high level of sugar in it was sacred in her mind, treating it as if it were gold. Tai continued on in this way until the small tray was emptied. She quickly set it on the table without moving from her spot. Her attention then refocused on the more serious matter of their conversation, about the Hollow-dono and the Espadas well being.

"Surely we are not that uncouth that infighting would start up, no? And if we are like so, then I am greatly surprised Hollow-dono has not been murdered yet out of pure power lust. But yes....someone would have to take the spot....and who would that be?" Tai murmured quietly, calming down for the moment. She seemed to already know the questions answer. Of course it would be Mar-kun taking the spot. Or that Primera guy. She couldn't memorize the names of all the Espada. But her master was the most powerful, or he wouldn't be the Cero. With a soft yawn, the determined look in her eye changed to one of innocent playfulness. ”Hmm.....i'm bored. You can't seem to get hit with anything I throw, so lets play another game. Let's plaaaaaaay.....hide and seek!” Tai yelled, gently hopping on her masters stomach. Her thoughts about the children's game were ones of happiness and excitement. She would play any game as long as it classified as fun. Tai waited patiently, something very rare, for her masters answer on the subject.

A brow was risen, the girl's words striking the respective chord in reference to a man's behavior in silence and thought. She was right, to a degree, he was indeed plotting his own machinations, the gears turning within his head to such a degree that one may have even found it dizzying. He suspected, rather, he knew what would come of the death of the Hollow King and the opportunity it would yield unto him. "I do not brood, nor do I pout, I merely find myself in the daze of thought and reflection upon that which is relevant." A keen eye that held its own gleam of personal intent caught after Tai, a hint to the girl that her questions were delving, perhaps deeper than she had intended. Though, he did not find himself troubled, merely flustered by the sheer curiosity the girl held within herself. She had known him for some time, so should she not have truly known him and his tendencies in thought? Perhaps not, there was many the instance in which Marcus kept himself closed shut to outside observation, making an assessment of his habits and thoughts hard to predict or understand at any single point in time. Perhaps Tai had simply not pieced together the proverbial puzzle of understanding in the regards to her Espada? Such was likely as well, even as he looked after the girl, brow raised as he was told to keep himself still as can be so that Tai's own sugar packed snack could be enjoyed without fear as a mess he seemed sure that the girl, though sharp, did not understand the very depths of his own emotions in the way of the Hollow King, then again, there was but one living Espada who carried knowledge of the depth, and that was Escher himself.

Tai's further questioning of the humanity of the arrancar pressed Marcus' mind to further depths. He had no doubts that the Espada would fall to internal wars and struggles for dominance that would draw all of Las Noches and the arrancar population to the center, threatening the destruction of both, all due to the greed and malignant attitudes of the many. Infighting was destined to occur, should he not be able to take the King's seat immediately upon his death and issue a challenge to any who would dislike his rule. "The Espada are driven by ambition, some more amiable than others, but ambition nonetheless. Each will kill for the opportunity to take a seat they have no right to..." Marcus paused for a moment, his mind calculating on that which would be better said before continuing. "...such is why, upon Oji-sama's death, I will ensure that those ambitions are never fulfilled, just as I've no doubt that so many others suspect, I intend to take the crown for myself and place my ambitions to a point of affluence." It was matter of fact, something that revealed a deeper part of himself to his fraccion, had she never truly gained a legitimate admittance from Marcus in regards to his own ambitions. He indeed meant to take the King's seat upon the old man's death, and by any means necessary. Perhaps such is why the girl's request was suddenly answered with a nay say.

"I cannot play games this day with you Tai-chan. Rather, we must speak in a sense of seriousness, even if you think it bothersome."

Marcus sighed in his own reference of bothersome, it was bothersome as the days drew the King closer to his death. It was a time that meant tensions were high, and risk of political assassinations were high, as were the taking and destroying of another's assets, making fraccion vulnerable to the ploy of the Espada. True, Tai was strong in her own sense, able to stand almost evenly with perhaps the Novena and suffer only a minor disadvantage, but those of higher rank and power, those are whom she stood no chance against, an a higher risk of being targeted by. For that reason, Marcus had in fact decided that her accompaniment would be had during his upcoming exploration into the human world with Escher. "I have been placed on assignment. A search sorts that requires me to leave for the human world in but a few days to search out a place of interest. You, as well as Noah, shall accompany myself and Escher to the place of concern." His tone became stern, lacking in the capability of wavering or bending, even to the ploys of Tai should she object. "In these final days of the King's rule, you and Noah shall become political targets to strike at myself, should there be a malcontent in the word of my intent to rise. I will hear no arguments, your accompanying me is for your own safety." And so it was, let not the stern face and cold eyes fool, beneath his grizzled appearance existed a man with a concern and care for those with reason enough to surround him in the way of simple company. For that fact, security to those was a guarantee by the hand of the Cero Espada himself.

Silent steps were taken as Escher moved through the halls between his chambers and Marcus's. It was a short walk, strangely enough. It seemed everything ran closer together as one got closer to the higher ranking members. The Novena's and Octova's chambers were almost three miles apart, while Eschers was only half a mile away from Marcus. His mind was still on his vision he had. Each day the dream would get more realistic and he would see alittle more of it. Not anything afterwards, it was always something before he reached the gate.

Then He finally entered Marcus's palace, It was quite different than his. Escher favored simplicity whereas Marcus favored more materialistic things. His domain was very "kingly", possibly reflecting his days in his old clan before it was destroyed. He wondered where in this elaborate place Marcus was. He figured he was with his fraccion, depending on which would determine his whereabouts. He figured he was with Tai, he favored her more than Noah. She was somewhat his weak spot. Escher stopped a moment and focused on finding his reiatsu, it was close.

He eventually found them both, Escher and Tai. They were speaking of the mission. It looked like Tai was coming with them, Escher didn't mind though. He slowly walked into the room after Marcus finished speaking to tai. "Am I interrupting brother?" He said to marcus after making his presence known. He wondered if this was a good time for him to show up, but the time period for his waiting was over. it was now time for them to leave.

PostSubject: Re: Rude Awakening   Sun Apr 03, 2011 8:47 pm

"Yare yare...

Marcus slowly rose from his place upon the couch he favored so very much, the sound of Escher's voice and approach causing the man to curse in the silent recesses of his mind. He had hoped there would be some more time between Escher's arrival and their eventual departure. He had yet to recover Noah in time for their departure, he intended for both of his fraccion to come hither and follow him to the human world, but it seemed that such a thing wouldn't be possible at the given time. He sighed to himself, an exhasperated look evident on his face as a casual hand sifted through his hair, pushing back the stray bands of hair that often found themselves rebelliously sitting before his face. So bothersome things seemed to be around Escher, then again, such wasn't the man's fault, he was a loyal dog to the King, even though the old fool had no care for the Espada beyond their use as tools, a sad thing. But, such a trait in Escher was comendable, one would only have to hope that Escher's loyalty could be extended to a new king when Marcus' own time would come. After all, one such as Escher was a benefitial ally to keep during a rule in which others would likely challenge you. Espada such as Alric were those that possessed problematic traits however, their constant lust for power proving to often be the beginnings for a lust for dominance in the world, a trait that only ever produced more deaths than security for others or a stable life altogether.

"...I suppose I couldn't expect you to sleep for too long could I?"

Marcus gave a curt nod to Escher before looking back to Tai with a sigh all his own once more. Leaving his fraccion behind was unwise in the case of a coup de ta, but, leaving now and not hunting down Noah only to leave that fraccion behind and alone would be unwise as well. It was undeniable, Tai was a powerful fraccion, more powerful than Noah. So, perhaps leaving them both behind for security in a pair would be better? Yes, it seemed that would be best if both weren't to accompany Marcus and Escher to the human world. "Tai-chan...nevermind my previous words. It seems I am forced to leave this moment. Stay behind and keep an eye on Noah-san." Marcus thought for a moment, wondering if there was anything else to warn the girl after, then a recollection of the girl's mischevious behavior captured his mind, a slight groan emanating from him as he spoke in a less than pleasurable tone. "And do your best not to destroy my wing. I've no problem with your antics, just don't let me find another painting or portrait with an unoriginal mustache upon it. Most of these ARE irreplaceable you know." Marcus turned back to Escher with a nod, as if acknowledging that it was time to leave, walking passed the Primera with a casual stroll, stopping for but a moment in passing one of the many arrancar that seemed to bustle about the Cero's massive chambers, grabbing from outstretched hands a blade that was no doubt Marcus' emaculate zanpakuto.

Stepping after having retrieved his blade from the arrancar, Marcus slipped the blade within his obi and stuck his hands carelessly in his pockets, his eyes half-closed in their still sleepy haze. He was unaware if Escher had yet to follow after him with a purpose, but he felt the man's presence at some point behind him, speaking with eyes front as he guided himself through the long halls. "I hope that this gate is worth our time. I would hate to think it being wasted, Escher." Marcus' stride took the would be pair to a massive opening, one large enough to support the opening of a Garganta. A lazy hand withdrew itself from a pocket and Marcus snapped a finger before him, cracks appearing in the air before them, suddenly shattering as a Garganta was opened to the two Espada. Slowly, Marcus stepped into the gate, his stride falling upon the nonexistent ground in the black dimension, a glance snapping behind him in observance of Escher. "Where exactly are we going? I would hate to lead us astray. Or, you may lead us in my stead." Marcus' stride halted, only to allow Escher to take the lead, he had no intention of tarrying forlong among the middle dimensions of the universe, rather, he only cared to find this gate and finish that which was necessary.

He wasn't surprised that Marcus wanted an extension to their departure, he was somewhat overprotective of his fraccion. Probably the memories of past events caused that reaction. Eshcer on the other hand hand't even meet his fraccion since his return. It wasn't an uncommon thing though. Isaac had the most control of his actions as a fraccion, the only one who came anywhere close to his amount of freedom was Tai. Escher didn't bother responding to Marcus's comment, he knew the answer before he even asked the question. He just stood by the doorway waiting patiently.

Escher was surprised though to find that Tai was not to come, it somewhat bothered him to be exact. He wondered why he would do such a thing, as it was completely out of his character. He figured Tai would be to find and protect Noah, the member of Marcus's fraccion that wasn't present. It was rare that he wasn't which also came as a surprise. Things must have changed in a years time, most of which he didn't really care about.

Escher began to walk with Marcus as they headed out. He observed him grab his sword from another arrancar, a lesser fraccion of little meaning. Escher was surprised to see so many about now. It was almost like they came out of the stonework. "You know its bad luck to never carry your own blade right?" He said jokingly. He wanted to lighten the mood alittle bit, he disliked things so stiff like this. he continued him down throughout the halls and to the garanta he had summoned.

"I have a good idea but I am not sure exactly. Probably somewhere in Africa or close to a spiritually enriched city. Where ever it is we are going to have to search. I'm used to such things but i'm wondering how you will fair so far from Los Noches. How long has it been?" He said casually. This was going to be a long trip, he wanted to start off easy. But with marcus, nothing was ever easy. He almost forgot the question to lead, something he was hardly ever asked. He sure was never asked with the previous cero. but that was something of the past and it would remain as such. " You can lead, I never liked leading." Escher said to him shortly after his previous question.
